Safeguarding

At the New Clarence, we want everyone who visits, works, or volunteers with us to feel safe and welcome. Licensed premises can put people at greater risk — alcohol can make people more vulnerable, particularly those affected by child sexual exploitation, domestic abuse, modern slavery, or those with a physical or mental disability. That's why the Hull Community Pub Society has a Safeguarding Policy, setting out how we protect children and adults at risk, how we expect staff, volunteers, and Directors to conduct themselves, and how any concerns are recognised, reported, and acted on. Everyone has the right to protection from abuse and neglect, whatever their age, background, or circumstances, and we take that responsibility seriously.
